About Us

Stillness Manor Front Courtyard

Built by the Noakes family in 1952 as a family home and since renovated in early 2020, the Manor features a classic Cape Dutch gable and inspiring ambience.

Known as the Zwaanswyk area, this part of the Constantia Valley is a haven for lovers of nature and stillness, making it the perfect destination for a boutique hotel that was established in 1995, with the addition of the Spa Wellness Centre in 1996.

The Steenberg Estate, originally known as the Zwaanswyk, was granted to Catherina Ustings in 1688 and was one of the first farms in the Western Cape. Its Cape Dutch homestead was built in about 1740, and its verandah and outbuildings were added at the beginning of the 19th century. It was declared a National Monument under old NMC legislation on 7 October 1983.

What our visitors say about us

A lovely venue with fantastic views across the city and surrounding mountains. The gardens are magnificent, and the staff could not do enough for us. At present the Manor does not do dinner however, that is not a problem as plenty of restaurants within 15 mins drive. We also took the 2-hour Relaxation Spa experience which was absolutely fantastic and up there with the best we’ve had

Stillness Manor was our last Guest House on our 5-week holiday and we definitely saved the best till last. Lovely welcome from Dmitri the owner when we arrived, then shown to our room it was enormous and the view was outstanding. Would definitely recommend this gorgeous place, and we hope to come back as soon as we can.

Spent three nights last week at the Stillness. Amazing views of Cape Town, Table Mountain, the rooms are older but nice. 3 pools, all of them nice. Had a great massage at the spa. Easy transport to many restaurants nearby. Breakfast included and was very good. Strongly recommend. Ownership and management exceptional.

Beautiful property with amazing views. Enjoyed the very clean room and the spa was great. Service was great and owners could not do more to make you feel welcome. Great restaurants only five minutes away.

My wife and I were very pleased with everything that Stillness Manor had to offer. It was one of our best stays in a long time. We appreciated that we were greeted upon arrival. Wood was available in our room for the fireplace. It was really a perfect get-away.
